Caustic Soda — overview
Caustic soda flakes and pearls (NaOH ≥ 98%) for refining, soap and chemicals. It belongs to our refinery chemicals range, part of the refinery clay & chemicals division of Hurain Engitech & Trade.
Caustic soda (sodium hydroxide) neutralises free fatty acids in chemical refining, forming soapstock that is separated from the oil. Citric acid is used in acid degumming to condition non-hydratable phosphatides and chelate trace metals before bleaching.
Both chemicals are also essential in soap and detergent manufacture, food processing, pharmaceuticals, textiles and water treatment.
